The Boomerangs Netball Team

The all Indigenous Boomerangs Netball Team is a South Australian based sporting team. One of the roles of the team is to actively promote awareness regarding a healthy lifestyle among Indigenous people. The team also serves to increase self-esteem and self confidence through players’ participation. Over the last several years the team has competed in three major tournaments with plans for another in Sydney later this year.


Team Hoop Dreaming - Basketball

The Team Hoop Dreaming is a project run by the Cairns Basketball Inc. As well as being a showcase of young Indigenous talent in the field, the program promotes an active lifestyle and strong community values.  Using both Indigenous & Non-Indigenous Youth Mentors as role-models the Hoop Dreaming project aims to teach values such as self-respect, honesty, and integrity.


Imparja Cup - National Indigenous Cricket Carnival

The 2009 Imparja Cup was held from the 9th - 14th of February in Alice Springs.


Indigenous Girls Softball Team


Indigenous All Stars - AFL

Every two years an Indigenous All Stars team is formed to play an exhibition match against an AFL side. In 2009, the Indigenous All Stars team played the Adelaide Crows in Darwin.


Flying Boomerangs Indigenous Youth Team - AFL

The Flying Boomerangs Indigenous Youth Team consists of some of the best under-16 Indigenous players from across the country.


Indigenous Dreamtime Team - Rugby League

In 2008 the Indigenous Dreamtime Team was formed to play the NZ Maori side as part of the opening ceremony to the Rugby League World Cup held last year in October.


Lloyd McDermott U16 Rugby Development Team

The Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team ( LMRDT ) is committed to promote Rugby Union for Young Aboriginal Men & Women, so that the participation rate is increased in future years.


Australian Indigenous Touch Football Team

The Australian Indigenous Touch Football team consists of both a men and women's team.


Australian Indigenous Boxing Team

Boxing is seen by young Indigenous people as a sport that provides a new career option, allows them to get rightful recognition for their talents and proper rewards for their efforts.
