Peter Beath
Peter Beath is a young Wiradjuri man from Cootamundra in NSW. He is currently an executive member of the National Indigenous Youth Movement of Australia (NIYMA); he was a member of the Foundation for Young Australians Youth Change Makers grant committee. Previously, Peter has worked in ATSIC, Reconciliation Australia and the Jabal Centre at the Australian National University, in the areas of; employment, leadership, education and youth issues. Peter has been a member of NIYMA since 2005 and an Executive member since 2006. Currently he is working as the Indigenous Specialist for the Junee Correctional Centre with young Indigenous men who are in gaol. Peter is a mentor to many young Indigenous men and women whom he has effected in the many fields he has worked. Peter has had much experience across a multitude of fields and will only inspire more young Indigenous people on the long and prosperous journey he has ahead of him, his family, and his community.
