I pay respect to the Ngnunnawal/ Ngambri people on whose land Reconciliation Australia is located and I thank Matilda for her generous welcome. I also acknowledge the generosity of the many people who have contributed to this website and thank them for their willingness to share their knowledge and life experiences.
Your organisation has shown great leadership through providing you with this opportunity to learn about Indigenous peoples’ lives and their culture and its commitment to reconciliation more broadly.
I hope this website provides a framework for you to understand what is possible when people are committed to working together through respectful relationships. I also need to point out that face-to-face training with an experienced Indigenous Awareness Trainer and/or cultural emersion within an Indigenous community can be life-changing. This site is not a substitute for these deeper experiences – but it’s a good starting point for your journey.
